We ended up sleeping pretty terrible the first night. We heard all the cars going by, since our camp site was pretty close to the street. My friend heard foot steps at one point, and then we heard an animal getting into chips, literally heard every little bit of crunching (my fault for leaving the chips outside 🤦🏻♀️ . Apparently the animals got so close to the tent that my friend heard sniffing in her direction. I was also trying to stop my kid from kicking my friend in the middle of the night. Here I was worried my kid wouldn’t sleep in a tent or while camping.. funny enough, she slept better than everyone combined.

To start our second day, we had a yummy but simple breakfast. There is something about eating breakfast outdoors and away from the city. Kind of peaceful in a way and relaxing.

Another day out at a beach. This one was a little different, not as busy, a little more hidden, sand was pretty hard, but the kids managed to still play in it. It was also pretty rocky and the water had a lot of tadpoles swimming in it, which kind of made being in the water weird, plus the water didn’t look as clean.

After we got back from the beach, we had burgers for lunch and then played a game of Bocce.
For those of you that don’t know…
Bocce Ball is a game you can play as a team or one-on-one, the strategy is to get the colour ball (green or red depending what side you’re on) closest to the little white ball. It’s pretty fun and sometimes can be competitive.

Normally we let the two winning teams face each other, but, we decided to head back out to the beach. Again after 5PM Sauble Beach had free parking.
When we went to the beach, my friend and I wanted to try Amici’s Coffee Bar, I decided to try their lemonade green tea and she got their caramel macchiato.

We explored their shops a bit, I ended up purchasing a Minnie Mouse floaty, Unicorn surfboard type thing and a baby shark t-shirt with the Sauble logo. All for my little girl.
Unfortunately she skipped her nap earlier in the day and was super cranky when we were at the beach,

When we returned to the camp site, her mood was a lot better. We had some lamb spiedini (one of my favourites) for dinner. Also had some grilled pineapple, some watermelon and one s’more.

The 2nd night I ended up sleeping pretty well, although the air mattress felt like it was slowly starting to sink, but it was still a good nights sleep.
In the morning we did nothing special, it was literally tear down, pack the cars, get our deposit back and drive over to Timmies to get breakfast. This time around I got their Fully loaded buffalo chicken wrap, it’s a new item on their menu but I felt like they went stingy on the sauce. Also ended up with an iced capp for the road.
When we got back to town, I dropped my daughter off at the house so she could have lunch and stretch her legs, she was sleeping a lot during the ride. After she was dropped off my friend and I went to grab some Starbucks, I got a Strawberry Oat Matcha Late 1/2 sweet and we ended up going to grab some pizza for lunch.

Turned out that my Husband also wanted me to get a box of pizza for dinner, so had to order that and went to Shoppers Drug Mart to grab a few things. Dropped my friend off at home and then I eventually got home and had to unpack and shower off the weekend.
Overall it was a really fun trip, and I hope we could make camping a tradition, even if it’s a cottage at times. It’s always nice getting away from the city, I love long country road drives, especially when I get to see horses, it relaxes me.
