Sauble Beach 2022

Everyone that goes to Sauble needs to take a photo of the sign!
Family Photo #1
Family Photo #2

We took a family trip to Sauble beach on July 30th, I personally love going to the beach, just being near the water and feeling the sand on my feet. I feel like I should’ve put a little time into reading while I was there too, because that is totally my Summer Time vibes.

Family Photo #3

Although I cannot swim, it was nice being able to go into the water, it was my first time going to Sauble Beach, and it was located 3hrs away from where we live. The drive itself was long, but honestly not bad at all. I got to toss a fit ball a bit with my siblings, which felt nice, it is something we normally don’t get to do anymore now that we’re all older and busy with our own lives.

Looks so clean and peaceful!

I got to spend extra time with my Daughter and Fiancé, Hailey really seemed to enjoy the water, which I am so glad she did. But this young, she ended up just chilling in her stroller napping. Did not have any compliant about the weather at all.

First time wearing her swim suit.

After my parents left, my Fiancé and I decided to walk around the stores at Sauble strip, where I purchased a new beach towel to use during our next beach adventure, a picture frame.. this way I have no excuse of why I cannot print our newest family photo of three, a few small turtles, a coaster and a cute little pink bracelet with a heart on it for my daughter Hailey.

These photos are always flattering.. right??

We then explored a little more, Rob tried a burrito and I had a burrito bowl from this food truck called “Casero Taco Bus”, the food was delicious! I had the Brisket bowl.

The food was DELICIOUS!!

We then kept walking around some more, and eventually decided to go back to the beach, where we sat and watched the Sunset. I have personally always had watching the sunset on my bucket list for the longest time, and I am so glad we got to do it. Especially watching it at the beach is something I will always remember.

So beautiful!

Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop (Book Review)

Synopsis:
The trip of a lifetime! Rosie Lewis has her life together. A swanky job as a Michelin-Starred Sous Chef, a loving husband and future children scheduled for exactly January 2021. That’s until she comes home one day to find her husband’s prepacked bag and a confession that he’s had an affair. Heartbroken and devastated, Rosie downs her sorrows in a glass (or three) of wine, only to discover the following morning that she has spontaneously invested in a bright pink campervan to facilitate her grand plans to travel the country. Now, Rosie is about to embark on the trip of a lifetime, and the chance to change her life! With Poppy, her new-found travelling tea shop in tow, nothing could go wrong, could it…?

Review:
I loved everything about this book, mostly because I have secretly liked the idea of having a used book store/tea shop on wheels. My personality also was similar to Rosie, where I am a huge planner and barely ever do anything spontaneously, so I was very invested in seeing how her life would turn around once the least expected happened to her. Once her husband had left her, he said the one thing he did not like about her was that everything had to be by her books and within her timing, everything had to be planned and was predictable. She then felt like she needed to not only prove him wrong, but prove herself wrong and that she can change how she has managed her own life, that is when she spontaneously quit her job and purchased a campervan (under the influence of far too many glasses of wine). She then decided to get on the road and travel, selling different teas and making a whole new life for herself.

I am truly thankful for this book, as it taught me that not everything goes according to plan. And sometimes it is okay for you to be spontaneous and make different plans with your own life to fully enjoy it to the best of your ability. It also covers some Romance with someone she least expected to be with and online dating with someone who pretended to be someone he wasn’t.

Favourite Quotes:

“And one thing I’ve learned is there is no right way to walk this earth, and we can only learn from those in our lives, take whatever lesson we can from it and keep going.”

“It strikes me that we humans build these lives for ourselves that have the tendency to trap us.”

“Bookworms do that a lot, fall for the hero in their latest read and get terribly down about the fact they’re fictional.”

Daughter of immortals. Princess Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law-risking exile-to save a mortal. Diana will soon learn that she has rescued no ordinary girl, and that with this single brave act, she may have doomed the world. Daughter of death. Together, two girls will face an army of enemies-mortal and divine-determined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. Tested beyond the bound of their abilities. Diana and Alia must find a way to unleash hidden strengths and forge an unlikely alliance. Because if they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war.

Review:
Wonder Woman is honestly on of my all time Super Heroes, and any novels to do with heroes.. especially heroes that already exist I find could be a hit and miss in terms of it being good. I overall think that Leigh Bardugo did a wonderful job to capture what Wonder Woman stands for. She was treated as if she was too little to be a true warrior, but when she was going to prove the other Amazons wrong, she had decided to go off course to protect this girl that had a boat which was being attacked.

This book did have some funny moments, especially how Alia would react when it came to Diana’s super strength. I really enjoyed the amount of girl power in this novel and how Diana pretty much tried to tell Alia how she can rewrite her own path and not be the evil she was destined to be.

I really did enjoy Leigh Bardugo’s writing style as well, so I am hoping to read more of her work. I am also looking forward reading more Super Hero novels written by some other amazing authors.

My favourite quotes:

“I am done being careful. I am done being quiet. Let them see me angry. Let them hear me wail at the top of my lungs.”

“We cannot spend our lives in hiding, wondering what we might accomplish if given the chance. We have to take that chance ourselves.”

“You can’t live in fear. You make things happen or they happen to you.”

“We can’t help the way we’re born. We can’t help what we are, only what life we choose to make for ourselves.”

“Because people are always going to look. They’re always going to judge, so you can say nothing or you can at least answer back.”

“A wise warrior learns from her mistakes.”

Fashion ~ Black Leggings SUMMER edition!

We have come a long way when it comes to leggings. Especially in 2020-2021 leggings came back in style, when a lot of people have become more dependent on comfort clothes.

Not sure about you, but, for me… I swear I depended on my leggings. From going to the office to going out and even chilling at home. I went from not owning any, to owning probably over thirty pairs.

I have lots of different patterns, solid colours and even different lengths (She’s Got Leggz.. which I am a consultant for has legging, capris and shorts length.

My ultimate favourite colour is our Black Onyx. The ones in this picture is not from She’z Got Leggz, they are actually just random photos from Google images, but wanted to show you how versatile black leggings really are.

Would love to do this! But yet to find boots that’ll fit me.
Goals.
I do something pretty similar to this. It’s great for the cold Summer nights.
I need shoes similar to this, and then I’ll be ready to rock this style.
I dress this way quite often.
I have actually done this before, I even own a tee dress similar to this.
This one here is my least favourite. Honestly not a fan of that vest.

How do you wear your leggings? What is your usual to go to style? Which style is your goal to try? Comment below with answers.

Black Widow ~ Movie Review

MOVIE REVIEW ~ BLACK WIDOW

Release Date: July 9th 2021
Duration: 2hrs and 13mins
Genre: Sci-fi, Action, and Adventure
Rated: PG-13

*NOTE* this review will have some SPOILERS!!!!!

This movie originally was supposed to release May 1st 2020 but was postponed not only once, but three times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I can personally say as much as I hated the fact it got postponed so many times, it was definitely worth the wait.

“Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) also known as Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.” — Disney Plus

For anyone that watched Avengers Endgame, I’m sure we all know that Black Widow ended up dying *insert cry emoji* and that this Black Widow film will most likely be the last time we ever see Natasha Romanoff. In my opinion, she should’ve had at least two solo films and they should’ve been before Endgame ever happened. I suppose this is better than nothing though, and better late than never. With how this movie was placed although it was about the past, I felt like it was more of Yelena Belova’s (Florence Pugh) introduction.

The dynamic duo between Natasha and Yelena was AMAZING! Honestly having both of these amazing actresses in this film made me fall inlove with the movie and I was not a single moment where I felt bored of the movie. Not to mention that I honestly lost track of how many times Yelena made me laugh and I felt like out of all the characters in the film, she had the most character development.

My other two favourite characters was Alexie (David Harbour) although I found him a little dull at times, he did have a lot of funny lines and overall good character. I also felt that the Taskmaster was pretty bad ass, especially with the constant growth and ability to learn other peoples moves before they can do the moves themselves.

When the end credit scene came on, I had a strong feeling of what was going to happen… and it did. I did cry… I felt like it was a little too soon for it to pop up on the screen again, although it has been over two years ago since Avengers Endgame, it still hit home for me, since Black Widow was one of my favourite characters in the Avengers.

I am however really excited to see what Marvel has in store for Yelena, and I hope they keep her personality and wont alter it too much in any future shows/films.

Here are some of my favourite quotes:

Natasha: You can’t just steal a guy’s car.
Yelena: So you want me to chase him down and unsteal it?

Yelena: Well, I doubt the God from space has to take an ibuprofen after a fight.

Natasha: Put your seat belts on.
Yelena: You’re such a mom.

Natasha: You okay?
Yelena: Yeah. Great plan. I love the part where I almost bled to death.

Yelena: You’re a total poser.
Natasha: I’m not a poser.
Oh, come on. I mean, they’re great poses, but it does look like you think everyone’s looking at you,
like all the time.

Yelena: [Referring to the avalanche] This would be a cool way to die.

Alexei: Okay. Why the aggression, huh? Is it your time of the month?
Yelena: I don’t get my period, dipshit. I don’t have a uterus.
Natasha: Or ovaries.
Yelena: Yeah. That’s what happens when the Red Room gives you an involuntary hysterectomy. They kind of just go in, and they rip out all of your reproductive organs. They just get right in there, and they chop them all away. Everything out, so you can’t have babies.
Alexei: Okay, okay. Okay! Okay! You don’t have to get so clinical and nasty.
Yelena: Oh, well, I was about to talk about
fallopian tubes, but, okay.

Fashion ~ Shein Haul #1

For the longest while Shein was always advertised on my Facebook and Instagram feed. Although I browsed through the advertisements I never really trusted it. Until more of my friends purchased from them.

It was maybe two months ago when I placed my first order.

It had taken approximately 1-2 weeks for me to get my order, which was faster than the estimated time frame. The fact I felt sketchy about ordering from the app did make it feel as if it was taking far much longer for the order to come in.

Here are the items I purchased in my first package:

I have only tried this sweater on once thus far, I ordered a large which is my actual size and it fits a little over sized. I definitely would not suggest sizing up.
I have worn this a few times around the house. Cannot wait to start wearing it outdoors, it has been too hot for it lately. Just like the sweater above it fits a bit over sized. i don’t recommend sizing up.
This dress I purchased in a size XL. It fits, but the make of it makes it cling to you. Although I do like it, I can’t see myself wearing it outside of the house anytime soon, as it really points out my flaws and insecurities. If you size up 1-2 sizes could probably work for maternity attire.
The pink top is in XL which fits a little loose, the red top is in L and fits me a little too snug. Works out fine since I’ve been trying to lose weight.
I ordered this in XL and fits me nicely. Feels so comfortable.
Purchased this in L and it fits me a little on the snug side. In the t-shirts I’d probably recommend sizing up.
Super cute hair clip and really comfortable to wear.
Out of the two hair clips, this one is my favourite. Super pretty and comfortable.

To be honest I normally don’t wear hair clips, a lot of the ones I used to have were way too tight and very hard to get it on without hurting my hand in the process. These are honestly very easy to use and I’m super happy about them.

These hair ties make it feel a little more on the retro side. But I honestly love them.

Overall the material of the products are all really nice, nothing was itchy or painful to wear. I’m the kind of person that cringes when a price tag of an item is on the hefty side… I mean, I can’t spend $50 on a pair of pants without feeling regret about it. Shein is also a good way to test items out to see what styles best suits you. If you go through a trial and error phase, you wont be throwing too much money out the window.

Overall for this order, I have spent a total of: $120.79 Canadian tax in. Which I think is a pretty good haul.

Have you ever tried Shein? Were you happy with the product?

A Simple Favor ~ Movie Review

MOVIE REVIEW ~ A SIMPLE FAVOR

Release Date: September 14th 2018
Duration: 1hr and 57mins
Genre: Crime/Thriller/Mystery
Rated: R

It took me almost three years to watch this film, and when I finally decided to do it, I am glad I did. This movie is also based on a book that was only published a year prior (I am yet to read the book, I am hoping to add it to my Autumn reading list).

Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) a lonely single mother that runs a vlog about food, meets Emily (Blake Lively) one day after picking up her kid from school. The two kids had become friends and asked their moms if they can have a play date. That is when Stephanie tries to become best friends with Emily, they exchange secrets and conversations over a Gin Martini.

I honestly think that Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively did amazing on their rolls. The duo is what gave the movie the flow it got.

One day Emily calls Stephanie and asks her “friend” to for a little favor. That was to go over and watch her son. As time passes, Stephanie realizes that Emily may possibly be missing and eventually has been declared dead. But for a girl that is dead, things don’t quite add up. Why is her presence still so strong? How did she die if she really did die? Stephanie tries to put all the puzzle pieces together all while trying to keep herself sane, and getting herself caught up in her “dead friends” affairs.

I’m honestly surprised at how much bad reviews this film got, but, I guess to each their own? I truly did love every bit of this movie, and there was a lot that has happened that I would have honestly never would’ve guessed (I wont say what caught me off my guard, in case anyone is still yet to watch it).

Of course Emily (Blake Lively) would have a huge walk in closet with all these nice outfits and shoes… reminds me of Gossip Girl 😍.

I’m personally very behind on watching movies, so not sure how to compare it to other possible similar movies. It does really give me Gossip Girl featuring Pretty Little Liars vibes.

Fashion ~ Dresses with Pockets

For this weeks blog about fashion, I’m going to talk about pockets. Specifically dresses with pockets.

I have been saying for YEARS how I hate that a lot of Women’s clothing doesn’t have any pockets, or if there are pockets they are too small to fit anything useful. For a long time now, I have wished and hoped that pockets for Women will become a little more normalized and always thought it’d be cool if dresses had pockets.

Well… that time has come! I think it was last year I started getting incredibly happy about new things releasing with pockets, and not fake pockets nor were they pitty small pockets. They were pockets large enough to put my hefty key ring in (I have A LOT of keychains 😂) or even my cell phone, which these days a lot of them are also quite large.

The pictures below are items from a Canadian company called She’s Got Leggz. They primarily sell leggings, but the other non-legging related items are honestly pretty amazing too! In case anyone was wondering I’m a consultant for SGL, so you may see more Fashion Friday posts based on that specific company!

POCKETSSSS! this dress is no longer available.

I was also never much of a girly girl growing up. More so these days I’ve really gotten myself into floral, brighter colours and other girly type fashion items. But seeing dresses with pockets are acceptable for both dressing them up and down.

These dresses are still available. They are a little see through, so I’d say they make a good cover up for when you go to the beach or sit by the pool. I own this one in black.

If you want to dress the outfits up a bit, simply do your hair nicely, put on some makeup, maybe wear heels or pair it with some nice jewellery.

This one kind of reminded me of Animal Crossing a little. Not so much of the pattern, but just the fact its a t-shirt dress. I also own this one and they are still available.

If you want to dress them down a little, you can wear more casual attire. Example simple flats, maybe you can even get away with casual sneaker type shoes, grey.. something not too out there.

This dress is not available anymore and I also own this one. Although out of the three posted in here that I do own, this one is my favourite. And because it’s much shorter you can wear black leggings or capris under it!

Do you own any dresses with pockets? If not…. What are you waiting for? If so.. how do you style your outfit? Would love to hear your fashion thoughts in the comments.

Bridge to Terabithia ~ Movie Review

MOVIE REVIEW ~ BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA

Release Date: February 15th 2007.
Duration: 1hr 36mins.
Genre: Fantasy Drama.
Rated: PG.

Bridge to Terabithia is a movie I have watched at the very least ten times. I unfortunately never had the chance to read the book, so I am unable to compare how similar or different they are from one another (it is on my to read list), the last time I seen this film was a few months ago when I was looking for a film that gave me some sort of comfort, and I remember exactly why this film gives me that sense of comfort and happiness. I love the idea of having a place to escape to from reality, between being bullied and having that horrible feeling that you don’t belong due to not having many friends, a great escape is exactly what is needed when reality gets crappy. Which that is exactly what this film had, that realism of young children in school and what they go through emotionally and physically, and how they made themselves feel happier and more themselves.

The connection between Jess Aarons (Josh Hutcherson) and Leslie Burke (Anna Sophia Robb) I found were the perfect duo for this cute family film. At first Jess thought that Leslie was possibly a little crazy, she was seeing and hearing things that he just was not quite understanding. Eventually he got into the idea of the Fantasy world and they became best of friends, they met up nearly every day after school just to go to Terabithia. The one day Jess was unable to meet up with Leslie was the day he went on a trip with his teacher Ms. Edmunds (Zooey Deschanel). When Jess got home, he found out about a tragic incident that had happened to his best friend Leslie (This is as far as I will go with the depth of the movie as I don’t want to spoil the movie, in case anyone has interests in watching it).

I can say there is a particular part in this movie that I always end up crying my eyes out, and it never fails to get to me. I know just when it is about to happen, and the water works just automatically take control over me.

Although I do highly recommend this movie for an evening at home with the family, I do not recommend to little kids. Between the giants and some parts of the movie being a little on the dark side it can either scare them or they might not understand everything that is going on in the film. I would probably suggest 10-11+ for the age group.

Leslie Burke is my favourite character, and my favourite quote from her is “Just close your eyes, but keep your mind wide open”.

Although the story itself was amazing, I kind of wish that things were a bit different for the characters, maybe it would’ve left an open opportunity for a second film. Would’ve loved to see what Leslie and Jess would’ve been like a bit older.

Fashion ~ Mermaid Style

Fashion over the years have been interesting and some sense of styles I have seriously questioned why it even existed or wondered how it even became a thing. I’ll get into those styles another day.

Today, I want to talk about MERMAID style.

Yes… 🧜🏻‍♀️ <——— Mermaids….

When I was a little girl I was absolutely in love with Mermaids. I found them so majestic and beautiful. I wanted to be one.. me being a Pisces and funny enough.. I can’t swim, so I always used to say I’m a fish out of water.

But as much as I myself wanted to be a Mermaid… I would’ve never thought I’d see a time that fashion itself, has a Mermaid style.

Pretty sure the first time I knew about the style was hearing about a Mermaid style wedding dress. It’s nicely fitted at the top and then kinda fans out at the bottom (sort of line fins). This particular style primarily looks good on average or thin built women. Some curvy women can also pull this style off easily…. but not overly thick women (like I don’t think I’d be able to pull a dress like the one below off.

I one day hope I can get a dress like this to look good on me. But, I also imagine walking in it very difficult.

These dresses honestly look so beautiful though 😍😍😍.

In the past few years I have noticed Mermaid pattern bas become very very very popular!

This is honestly really pretty. But, I cannot imagine going out in public like that.
I absolutely love the way this lipstick looks, but personally if it was outside of a convention or halloween, I don’t think I’d be able to be seen public with lips like that.
These nails are absolutely stunning and I feel if I were to get into any form of mermaid trend.. it would definitely be the nails!
These look pretty neat, maybe I’d wear this depending on the occasion and the rest of my outfit.
Honestly in awe with this dress.
And the skirt is absolutely stunning too. I actually own a pair of leggings similar to this and cannot bring myself to actually trying it on to see if it will suit me.
Animal Crossing and their mermaid themes is definitely getting me more hooked to the idea of mermaid fashion and style. My room isn’t quite like this yet but it’s definitely my goal!
The most popular of all….
Seems to be….
The hair! And all three of these are soooooo pretty! I would have to bleach the heck out of my hair if I ever wanted to do anything like this.

To be honest, I never knew this hair trend a lot of people were doing was considered as “Mermaid Hair” till I looked it up on Pinterest.

What are your thoughts on the mermaid style? Are you a part of this trend? Would you ever consider trying any of these? Would LOVE to hear your thoughts.
