This year we did end up celebrating Canada Day a little bit. At first we mostly stayed home and relaxed, we watched “The Pacifier” fun fact, the movie was filmed in Toronto Ontario.

The second movie I watched was “Camp Rock” and was also filmed in Canada Ontario, to be specific it was recorded mostly at the YMCA Camp Wanakita in Haliburton and Kilcoo Camp in Minden. Two parts of Ontario I honestly never knew existed, so looks like I need to go explore Ontario more.

Eventually we went over to Chinguacousy Park in Brampton, honestly, one of my favourite local parks. Unfortunately the live entertainment I would’ve wanted to see didn’t start till 8PM and we didn’t stick around that long, fireworks were also around 10PM and we missed that to, but I got to see them from a distance. This is what we did do:

We went to the wading pool, where our daughter got to have fun and splash around.
We had burgers for dinner. My Husband and I had a burger each and our daughter had a hot dog, total spent was about $19. Not bad considering it feeds 3 people and the burgers were pretty juicy. The place we ordered from had all proceeds go towards a local charity.
Family selfie time!
We then shared a caramel sundae from the ice cream truck. $8. To be honest, I thought that was too pricy.

We also went to the inflatable section and we found one bouncing castle that our daughter was able to go in. She was too short for all the other ones. Ticket was $6 for one, but she had fun, so thats all that matters. No photos of her on the bouncing castle unfortunately.

While I was putting my daughter to bed, I was able to see the fireworks from her bedroom window. Was hard to see them because of the trees, but these are the ones we would’ve seen at the park.

How did you celebrate Canada Day?
