Mothers Day weekend has been pretty busy. More often than not, weekends in general tend to be busy for us. But for Mother’s Day weekend I tried to focus on some needed self care and necessary shopping that needed to be done, on top of spending time with my loved ones.

So it all started with me waking up beside my daughter šŸ’œ. Sometimes when I’m exhausted I take her into bed with us and wait for her to fall asleep before I bring her into her crib. This time, which does happen a few times, I ended up falling asleep either before or just after she did, and she stayed with me the whole night. So it was nice waking up beside her to her saying ā€œmommyā€ first thing.

After getting ready to start my day, I had a super quick breakfast my Husband made for me (scrambled eggs and toast). Which then I had to rush out the door for my dentist appointment.

Had to get fillings done today.

Honestly forgot what it was like getting fillings done, my usual dentist visit is for cleanings, but the filling that needed to be done was just to replace the previous one. The numbness felt so weird and completely forgot I wouldn’t be able to eat for a few hours. Thankfully my Husband cooked, or else I would’ve had to wait till the numbness went away before eating my first meal.

After my appointment, I ended up at the mall. Decided to try a new drink from Starbucks and got to read a chapter for one of my books.

Summer Skies Drink. This is blueberry with raspberry like beads made with coconut milk.

Later on got some shopping done. My kid needed some new light PJs to get by the warmer months + new shoes. Still can’t believe how fast she grew out of her shoes. These are not things you think about when it’s not your kid. Also ended up getting gifts for a few of my friends (May Birthdays) and lots of Mother’s Day Cards.

Also picked up some flowers for my mom and my sisters.
The mall had a Mother’s Day Market! Such a weakness when it comes to these things, but so proud of myself for purchasing only one item (which was for a gift!!)

The mall also had a pop up area where you could take Mothers Day photos šŸ’œšŸ“ø.

I love that she posed in this one. Felt weird to smile because of the numbness. Also.. I don’t know what I’m doing with my arm. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
The best photo we could possibly get. She was getting tired. But, so much reality in this photo šŸ˜‚.

After we got done at the mall, we went to my parent’s house for Mother’s Day Linner. Not really tracking Weight Watchers this weekend, but still trying to do my best and be selective of what I do eat.

Had a delicious burger (no bun.. my attempt of being good šŸ˜. Some chicken wings and a few slices of tomato. Also had approximate 1/2 a can of iced tea (which I wasn’t planning on doing). Also some fruit and a small piece of billy minor pie (didn’t get any photos of that) and shared it with my little.
A picture of me and my Mom šŸ’œ.

When we got home I watched ā€œWhat a Girl Wantsā€ on Netflix. No matter how many times I watch it, it’ll always be amazing. My favourite quote by far: ā€œWhy are you trying so hard to fit in when you are born to stand out?ā€

And here are some more self care items:

Earlier in the day I took a photo of my teeth to see the job they did… got a bit of my nose in the photo and was disgusted on how much the black heads stood out… soooo.. it was time.
Hard to see because it’s a charcoal nose strip, but it took off most if not all of the ones that bothered me this morning.
It’s also been a long time since I did a face mask. Would love to make this into a weekly routine.

Until tomorrow’s post!
