This was my first year attending Carabram. To be completely honest with you, it was my first time even hearing about it. I had gone with my Mother-in-Law, my Husband and my Daughter.

The way this even is setup, is that you have this passport and you get to travel to all these different cultural pavilions, where you get to see live entertainment, purchase merch and/or try some of their ethnic foods.

Our first stop was the Scotland Pavilion.
At the Scotland Pavilion they were hosting a big Scottish Breakfast. Baked beans, egg, potato scones, bacon and blood pudding… it was my first time ever trying blood pudding.. and it was okay. I don’t necessarily recommend it, nor would I ever go out of my way to eat it again. It was also not terrible.. so if I was at someones house and they served it, out of respect I’d eat it.
They also had live entertainment, which was the bag pipe band.
Our next stop was the Irish Pavilion. This leprechaun has been a part of Carabram for several years.
There was also some “stand up comedy” and singing for the entertainment.
Along with some Irish dancing. This was lovely to see, as I’ve never seen the dancing outside of the one scene in Titanic.

At the Irish Pavilion I was hoping to get some lunch there. But I found it a little disorganized in the sense of we were not told how or where to order our food. A waiter came to the table for only drink orders. I wish they were a little more organized.

The next Pavilion we went to had several countries in the same building. We got to see Philippines, where I purchased a few items for my daughter. We also got to see Caribbean, which they played the steel drums. Was really impressed with the live entertainment there. My main goal was to see Italy.

I was a little disappointed about the Italian table. Mostly just had nutella and croissants there. I wanted to order a latte OR cappuccino and apparently they didn’t have an espresso machine so I settled for Canadian Coffee with milk and sweetener.
I should’ve known that this was totally a knock off booth, considering they wouldn’t even spell Espresso right.
But this is the snack I ended up with. Honestly love this brand for filled croissants. Coffee tasted meh, to be honest, didn’t even finish it. There was also no live entertainment or merch to buy from this booth.

While eating my snack, there was live entertainment in the kids corner. Disney Princesses singing and dancing with kids, at this point my daughter was asleep. Hopefully when she’s a bit older, that part is something she could really enjoy.

We then ended up in the Canada Pavilion.
It was my first time seeing the inside of a bees hive in person.
And of course you can’t have a Canadian Pavilion without poutine.
Buffalo Chicken poutine. Tasted good, but not the best poutine I’ve ever had.
We got to see Eclectic Revival play live at the Canadian Pavilion. My favourite songs they played totally had to be My Heart will go on and the 4 cord song.

The next day we went back to the Canada Pavilion and we got to see a neat dog show. Pretty sure I enjoyed it more then my daughter did, lol. She was more interested in eating her snacks then watching doggies do cool tricks.

After the dog show, last minute I decided we should check out the Powwow Dance and Indigenous Education, which I learned a lot about the reason behind the clothes that are worn during the powwows and what the dances all represent.

I would definitely attend an event like this again another year, it seemed pretty fun. Hopefully in the future years it would be organized a lot better.

Have you ever been to Carabram or anything like it? What was your favourite part?
