This is pretty much where our adventure wraps up.
After having breakfast at our friends houses, we went off to see what else we can do in town before leaving. Which is when we decided to check out their shopping mall. I didn’t get any photos of the mall, but it was huge and they had Canadian Flags all over, which makes sense since Ottawa is the capital of Canada.
We decided to go into this comic shop they have. It had a combination of comic related things and sport related things. I ended up purchasing myself a souvenir, waterproof cards! Which I actually had on my wish list for some time now on Amazon.
We then decided to split up and look at different stores/explore the mall. I went into Kitchen Stuff Plus, where I got a new organizing container for berries. And then went into La Vie en Rose, where I purchased a well needed bra (sorry if too much info 😂).
Before we decided to hit the road, we ate Osteria Italia which I wrote about in a previous post.
We did have a mini freak out because we heard about a major storm near by. Turned out it was in Quebec and not Ottawa, so we were okay for the drive back home.
Travelling with a toddler/baby could be hard at times. The drive itself wasn’t too bad, first while had a lot of traffic, since we were travelling during rush hour. We had to stop at an on-route for dinner and my little one didn’t really want to eat at the time, so we started driving off again.. and of course thirty minutes later starts getting fussy and crying because she needed milk. So we pulled over to feed her and then drove off again, I was super paranoid though due to her having moments where she ends up having car sickness. Most of the driving time back home was spent singing kids songs to her until she eventually fell asleep.
Overall, I’d say it took us maybe 4.5-5hrs for the drive back home between stopping and traffic. This time around I did not actually calculate the amount of time for travel like I did when we were on the way there.
Can’t wait for the next time we can make it out to Ottawa in the near future. First major family road trip was a success.
