Heart Lake has a really nice pool area and splash pad. Unfortunately it wasn’t in season yet for it to be open. There were quite a few people doing tree top trekking (honestly a goal of mine.. maybe next year after I lose more weight) and quite a few people fishing in the lake.
There were also plenty of picnic tables and there were lots of families gathered for BBQs. Might need to do a family or friend day trip here and do a pot luck or a BBQ. Although we were told that it was busier than normal (due to an auto show) the side we were on was not busy at all. Next time I’ll need to explore the other side of the conservation area, to see what else this place has to offer.
We took the stroller with us for our kid, she enjoyed a lot of the off roading and bumps and she was pretty secured with a mesh cover for the stroller. She did get a bit restless because she wanted to walk around and get out of her stroller, but my mission was to get a good workout in. So, she ended up watching frozen (impressed that my service was pretty decent enough for Disney + in the middle of the woods. Odd times it did had to reconnect, but still worked a lot better than I’d imagined.
I’m excited to go back. Wasn’t too crazy about the $27.12 parking, I guess technically not bad if you divide it between other people you have in the car with you. I’ll need to search more about the Conservation Parks Membership and see if it’d be more worth it for me to purchase that.
