Yesterday I woke up at 5:30am (way earlier then I would on a typical day) to start our adventure on a Family road trip to Ottawa!
Between getting ourselves ready and the car packed up, we didn’t leave the house until closer to 7:15am. Which first stop, we went to Tim Hortons for beverages and food. I had a green tea black, bacon farmers wrap and a hash brown. My Husband had a large double double with oat milk and a sausage farmers wrap. He also shared a croissant with our daughter.
It was approximately 7:30am when we got back on the road for our actual driving adventure. The road conditions at this point was okay, but approximately 1hr in, it was raining pretty steady. It was about 2hrs into our drive where the rain had more or less stopped.
It was roughly 10:20am when we stopped at an OnRoute in Odessa Ontario, where we ended up taking a bathroom break and very much needing to stretch out our legs. We ended up having a small snack from Burger King: I had a Junior Cheese Burger, my Husband had an Original Chicken sandwich and my daughter had two pieces of chicken nuggets. I also ended up getting a Grande Strawberry Oat Matcha Latte Iced from Starbucks and topped up on gas.

Our driving adventure continued. My daughter slept during most of our trip. I sang a decent amount of the time there, between the caffeine and the singing, it kept me functioning enough for the drive… as I only had about 3-3.5 hours of sleep the night before. And my Husband was entertained between watching Wrestling and reading Comics.
The 1-2hrs of our drive was so nice. Between all the trees and the rocks, it made a very pleasant view. We had officially arrived at our friends house (this is where we will be staying for two nights) at around 2:00am.
Length of time predicted by Google Maps: 4hrs & 40 minutes.
Time in breaks: 1hr and 15mins.
Actual Driving Time: 6hrs!
