Took a drive to Alliston for their Ribfest. The entrance fee to get in was $5 a person. Children 10 and under got in free. This was my very first time going to a Ribfest, so to be honest I did not know what to expect.

There were quite a bit of different vendors there food wise: Corn & Iced Tea, Caribbean Stand, Ribs & Pulled Pork, Blooming Onion, Fries/Poutine stand, Ice cream Truck, Slushy Stand, Funnel Cake, Lemonade stand and Tiny Tom Doughnuts.

Because it was my first time at a Ribfest, I didn’t know what to expect of the prices. Everything was quite expensive. My iced tea was $7, corn on the cob was $6, the blossoming onion was $16, the ribs were closer to $28-$35, a small slushy costed $5 or large for $20 (which blew my mind). Not too sure about the poutine and the fries. We were a total of 7 adults, 3 kids and a baby, so we were easily able to share everything. It would’ve been far too expensive if we each needed to spend money on 3 items each just to try the food.

While we were eating, there was some live entertainment. The bands that were there when we were there on Saturday was the Giant Fuzzy Unicorns and Bob Marley Tribute. Both were well preformed.

After having ice cream we walked around a bit, checked out the other small Business vendors. There were some carnival rides and games for anyone that wanted to play or ride. One of my nephews went on the jumping castle twice, while my other nephew got to ride on two of the carnival rides with his dad and his dad’s girlfriend. I would’ve loved to let my little one go on the jumping castle, but, she’s still too young. Definitely next year though.
Overall: my experience at my first ribfest was good. Food was obviously the best part, aside from it being wildly expensive. I’d totally go again though. And definitely looking forward to having another blooming onion.
