Our first day was pretty successful in my opinion. When we arrived at our friends house we had Chicken Pot Pie and the guys went out to go buy a few things while the girls stayed in and chilled at the house chitchatting. We also got to try a Korean Pogo Stick.

They have two cats. Which my daughter got the chance to pet them. Although.. in this photo I’m not sure if she’s trying to kiss the cat or eat it LOL.

Afterwards we did some driving and ended up downtown Ottawa where we got to see Parliament Hill, Centennial Flame, Alexander Bridge along with the river that divides Ottawa & Quebec, Rideau Canal Locks, and the Terry Fox statue.

A library that’s across from the Parliament building. It looks so pretty, wish we got to see the inside of it.

East Tower & Centennial Flame.

“Lester B. Pearson dedicated this fountain and flame on 1st of January 1967, to mark the beginning of the Canadian Centennial”.
My little family in front of the Centennial flame and on Parliament Hill.
And us again.

The Centre Block was closed to the public due to renovations. The inside of the building is outdated and with this project they tend to make it more modern along with my making it earthquake proof and address any security concerns they may have.

Close up of West Block.

“Parliament Hill is home to Canada’s federal government, where representatives from across Canada gather to make laws that affect the lives of every Canadian. It is also much more. A place to meet, a place to celebrate, and a place to visit, Parliament Hill is the symbolic heart of our nation.”

The project itself is a $3 billion – $5 billion project and is not expected to be completed until 2031 and open to the public by 2032.

These staires lead to the river. But was unfortunately closed.
Alexander Bridge. The other side of the river is Quebec.
Such a beautiful view.
Us in front of the river & Alexander Bridge.
This is a really pretty view with the way the sun is shining on it.
We saw a Tiki boat! The original one we saw was a lot closer and looked different, but I didn’t make it on time for the photo.
Beautiful flower bush.
My daughter with the flower.
And she tore it up.
Beautiful Gazebo behind the Parliament building.
These staires lead to the Rideau Canal locks.
Rideau Canal, locks 1-8. Would’ve been so cool to see them in action.
Underground Walkway, we didn’t get to go down there because of the stroller.
Laura Secord: “Laura Secord was a Canadian heroine of the War of 1812. She is known for having walked 20 miles out of American-occupied territory in 1813 to warn the British forces of an impending American attack.”

A simple but well loved sculpture by people both local and tourists. The statue is have 4 kids holding hands celebrating a joyous moment. The statue had been vandalized in January 2023 and has been restored for June 2023. It had costed $20,000 to replace.
Lunging bear doomed fish. This statue is supposed to show that bears were there first.
Terry Fox: “In 1980, with one leg having been amputated due to Cancer, he embarked on an east-to-west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for Cancer research.”
